IDR- Restore to different Hardware

Here is the scenario, we have several servers that we are using IDR on platforms range from 1 box with NT4 the rest are either win 2k or win 2k3. In the event of serious hardware failure there may be the need to restore to a server with significantly different hardware i.e. different systemboard, different RAM size. and in an extreme case different processors (going from 4 processors to 2 since we have only one server using 4 processors) will it be possible to restore the NT4, 2k, 2k3 servers (they are all primarily Dell) to different Dell server in the event of a crisis. most imprtantly would be from 4 processors (win2k) to 2 We are using BE10.

It would most probably restore, but doubt the server would start up especially if the number of processors is different.

This is not a fallback of IDR - just Windows.

It is not recommended to restore a server to a different hardware. Refer to the following TechNote:

Assuming the solution provided is correct and there is no response from the customer also
