IDR doesn't find network card on Dell PowerEdge R310

Using Backup Exec 2010 or 2010 R2, Remote server is running Windows 2003 R2 Standard x64 with a Broadcom NetXtreme II (BCM5716C).

I have looked at the drivers in the idr folder on the Backup Exec server and the BCM5716C is listed in the INF files (5.2.Service Pack 2@B06BDRV_7BB0C_2010166@OEM22.INF and 5.2.Service Pack 2@L2ND_1DCE2_205190@OEM9.INF). If I look at the log file on the IDR bootable cd, I see the card : PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_163B.

I don't know why the driver is not loading properly.

Thanks for your help - Francois.

You can try to inject the  driver manually into the IDR bootable ISO image using the procedure given in this document

Add the following entries

PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_163B
PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_163C

to the ‘<BackupExec Install Path>\idr\disk4\bedrwiz.ini’ file under the [Network Bus Enumerators] section on the media server and recreate the IDR recovery CD for the Windows 2003 R2 Standard x64 remote system. After the addition the [Network Bus Enumerators] should resemble the following

;
; Section to list custom network bus enumerator devices
;

[Network Bus Enumerators]

; Broadcom BCM5708C  NetXtreme II GigE VBD
