After May 2, 2018, Backup Exec 16 and earlier versions will no longer receive automatic security and quality updates via Symantec LiveUpdate. Further details of this change can be found in our Support article.
There is no change to the functionality of the Backup Exec product that you have currently installed.
Prior to 2 May 2018, Veritas recommends that you run Symantec LiveUpdate to apply the latest updates (if any) to your installed version of Backup Exec. If you cannot update Backup Exec before 2 May 2018, you can continue to download and manually install the updates from the Veritas Support website for the supported versions of Backup Exec.
