Importing 8.6 into 10d

I am upgading from Beckup Exec 8.6 to 10d, In restore, I see all of my old backups. Do I nned to inventory ALL of my DLT's to be able to just pick an item and ask for a restore? Right now it fails if the correct tape is not in there, but I don't really know what tape is the right one unless it asks for it.

Hi Tom,

It is a must to inventory and catalog the tapes that you want to restore.


Run a catalog job on the tape and verify what data is backed up on it.
