You would probably like to know that ingnoring the Remote Agent error on your backups is all very well when doing full backups but you might want to look a bit further when doing incremental backups of a NAS drive.
If you do you will notice that it doesn't back anything up. Nothing.
I have found no workaround for this.

What kind of NAS device do you have?
Not all NAS devices support the archive bit, which is used for incremental backups very well.

It's Seagate NAS 440's and you described the problem exactly.

Unfortunately there is nothing that Symantec can do about this to change it.
If you are lucky you can find an updated firmware for your NAS, otherwise contact the NAS supplier and notify them about the archive bit issue.

Yes I have tried all of this but each says it is the other's problem. I created this thread more to notify people that they need to be careful if doing incremental backups.

It is wise to look a the compatibility guides before purchase. Also on this site there is a Technote about the support of NAS devices: http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH14963

I take your point. Unfortunately I inherited the system.
