Incremental backup of a fixed VM

Hi,

When testing the incremental backup of a fixed VM, I found that backup exec undergoes a full backup and not an incremental one. Is there  a work around to let backupup ex perform an incremental backu of a fixed virtual machine?

Also there can be issue aissue where you have to reset CBT within the VM itself ( so not a Backup Exec root cause). I believe the process to fix is

Shutdown VM

Turn off CBT in settings of VM

Boot up VM

Shutdown VM again after a short time interval

Power up the VM

Run a Full backup (whicc turns CBT back on)

Then run an incremental

Incremental backup of VM depends upon factors such hardware version of the VM (must be atleast 7 or above), and Change Block tracking (CBT) must be enabled.
