Is it possible to Install Backup Exec on a Xen-Center server? We run Xen Center with 3 VM's. This server is our most powerful server so it makes sense.
I know that since it is a Windows VM it's still Linux based because of Xen-Center. Please correct me if I am wrong.
Thanks
EDIT: My mistake it was not V-ray edition, It is just Backup Exec 2014.

You can install BE in a VM on the Xen Server, but it would not be supported.

We also do not provide any direct capability to backup Xen-Server VMs (as we do with Hyper-V and VMware) meaning the V-ray license would not apply and you would have to use traditonal remote agents with appropriate licenses

Do I need to install Windows or Linux agents?
Edit: Colin, my mistake we are using Backup Exec 2014 (not v-ray). We've been using V-ray edition for a lot of clients so that must have been in my head.
So will I just need to use Windows Agents on the Citrix VM's?

One will have to use either Remote Agent for Windows or Linux depending upon the OS inside the VM as these VMs would be backed up as physical machines and not virtual ones.

If you want to backup the Xen Server host itself, then you need to install the Linux agent. Before you do that, check the SCL below to make sure that the OS is supported.

Note that the VM's are backed up as flat-files and not as VM's.
