Installing Backup Exec on none Domain System

Howdy,

We are installing Backup Exec 15 on a 2008 R2 system that is not on the Domain.  The system is in a workgroup and will remain in a workgroup to connect to a few servers in the same VLAN/none domain environment.

The installation always errors out.  What are the correct steps whn it comes to installing the Backup Exec 15 on a None Domain server?

Use the local admin account when installing BE and use the format: \ServerName\AdminAccount, or even IP address.

If you have remote agents to install then you need to add those remote server admin accounts into the Security settings of BE, and do a manual installation. Use the IP address of the media server to get around any DNS issues.

Once done, create your jobs and when browsing the remote servers, choose the relevant admin account of that server to connect to it.
