Installing Remote Administration Console for BackUp Exec 2010 R3

Hi there,

is there any possibility, i can install the Remore Administration Console for BackUp Exec 2010 R3 on my Windows 8.1 Enterprise 64-bit OS?

Hi,

The BE 2010 R3 SCL will detail if this is supported, and if not, then you're out of luck.

You can try installing it in Windows 7 compatibility mode though to see if this works, assuming that it isn't supported on Windows 8.1.

EDIT: Just checked the SCL and Windows 8.1 is not listed.

You might want to put this request as an Idea in the Ideas section of the forum.  If enough users agree with your Idea, it might get implemented in some future release.

BE 2014 supports Win 8.1 as an OS for installing the Remote Administration Console. BE 2010 R3 is couple of versions old and would be difficult to add support for newer OSes.

...so then your other option is to upgrade your environment to BE 2014 in order to use a Remote Console.

Otherwise, if you run a virtual environment, load up a Windows 7 workstation and load the Console on that.
