- Enable selection of User shares Under Tools/ Options/ Network and Security in the Backup Exec Console
- Added IP address of NAS device under user defined selection list
- Check if you are Able to expand and Select shares

Refer the following document

Also B2D on NAS running Linux not supported
check the intel site
http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/ss4000-e/sb/CS-029880.htm
it states that
Storage system software versions 1.0 through 1.4 are a proprietary build based on Linux Kernel version 2.6

I guess it would be same for ss4200e as well ..

If yes, then you should be able to add the NAS under user defined selection and backup from there

I've since upgraded Bexec to 2010 R2. I recieve the folowing error, " The media server could not connect to the remote computer. The remote computer may not exist on the selected subnet. Try an alternative network interface, or allow Backup Exec to choose any available network interface".
I can browse selected IP user define list, I've edited the media server hosts file but still cannot backup.
This is getting frustrating.
