Disaster Recovery is a top priority in today’s 24/7/365 digital world and dynamic business environments, as it helps organizations to stay operational even in the case of a disaster.

Organizations need to ensure that any business critical infrastructure, can be recovered to the latest point (Recovery Point Objective) as fast as possible (Recovery Time Objective) when a disaster strikes.

Veritas and Microsoft have a long history of collaborating closely to help organizations meet their data protection and disaster recovery goals.

Veritas Backup Exec already provides advanced data protection for Microsoft environments both on-premises and in the Azure cloud. Ranging from backup and recovery of Microsoft Windows Server, Hyper-V, Active Directory, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Exchange Server and Microsoft SharePoint Server.

In Backup Exec 20.2 we are introducing the next level of Azure integration with Instant Cloud Recovery (ICR) powered by Azure Site Recovery. With Instant Cloud Recovery (ICR) Backup Exec users can create automatically updated off-site replicas of Virtual Machines in the Azure cloud for a quick failover in case of a disaster.

This enables Backup Exec customers to minimize the Recovery Point Objective and Recovery Time Objective for business critical virtual machine workloads realizing the benefits of cloud as dynamic disaster recovery platform.

Instant Cloud Recovery requires an Azure subscription and supports VMware and Hyper-V Virtual Machines.

Backup Exec Instant Cloud Recovery provides a summary view, monitoring, replication health details, and key actions directly from the familiar Backup Exec console.
