We are excited to introduce Veritas Backup Exec 20.2 with Instant Cloud Recovery, expanded Azure coverage and support for the latest platforms.
Instant Cloud Recovery
Instantly recover to Azure cloud with the new Backup Exec Instant Cloud Recovery (ICR).
Instant Cloud Recovery (ICR) powered by Azure Site Recovery (ASR) propels our Azure cloud integration to the next-level by leveraging the native Azure Disaster Recovery-as-a-Service (DRaaS) to complement off-site backups.
With Instant Cloud Recovery Backup Exec customers can further minimize downtime (RTO) and data loss (RPO) even in the event of a complete disaster as data can now be instantly replicated to Azure cloud for business critical Hyper-V and VMware virtual machines. In the event of a disaster Backup Exec customers simply failover to the replica in Azure cloud to eliminate disruption.
Instant Cloud Recovery requires an Azure subscription - further details on Instant Cloud Recovery are available in the Backup Exec 20.2 Instant Cloud Recovery blog.
New Cloud Regions
All Azure (geo) Regions are now supported for Azure, Azure China, Azure Germany and Azure Government entities. More details are available in the Hardware Compatibility List.
