Level 2

Backup Exec_Wheel of Fortune.gifWe are excited to announce the availability of Veritas Backup Exec 21.3 with native cloud deduplication, day 1 support for Microsoft Windows Server 2022, a new partner hardware bundle, and support for several new cloud regions.

Backup Exec Cloud Deduplication

Integrated Dedupe to Cloud enables customers to send data to the cloud in a deduplicated format without rehydration or staging.  This provides increased speed in end-to-end dedupe performance with a dramatic reduction in time, cost, and network bandwidth when using cloud storage as a backup target.

Microsoft Windows Server 2022

Backup Exec has day 1 support for Windows Server 2022, allowing customers to move to the new release with confidence that their data can be protected from loss. 21.3 supports Windows Server 2022 for media servers and client servers, so we have your back if you set up a new Backup Exec environment or update your production servers and need to protect them.

Lenovo Hardware Bundle

With the release of BE 21.3, we are also launching a Backup Exec and Lenovo ThinkSystem bundle to provide our customers an all-in-one data protection solution. It’s pre-installed and packaged to deliver high performant, reliable backup servers focused on being ransomware resilient.

New Supported Cloud Regions

Along with our new cloud deduplication, we have also expanded the list of cloud regions we support, including:

  • Amazon Web Services: Osaka
  • Google Cloud Platform: Warsaw
  • Google Dual Region: Tokyo + Osaka, Finland + Netherlands, Iowa + South Carolina

All said and done, Backup Exec 21.3 greatly enhances cloud performance and enables customers to keep up to date with the latest Windows release. Customers with existing current maintenance can upgrade to the new version at no additional cost.
