Introducing the Backup Exec Deduplication Assessment Tool

The Symantec Backup Exec team has recently released a partner tool designed to accurately demonstrate the value of the deduplication technology found in Backup Exec and the Backup Exec 3600 Appliance.

is any prerequiste for enable this tools ?

no result is displayed an size is set to zero

Hi:

The following pre-requisites are required by BEDAT .

1.       Administrator credentials are required for executing BEDAT.

2.      1GB of free space for every 1TB of data (local and remote) scanned.

3.       OS Locale should be set to English(United States).

4.       Following services must be running on local and remote computer:

  - Remote Procedure Call

  - Windows Management Instrumentation

  - Computer Browser

5. Microsoft .NET 4.0

Hi When you go to the blog New! Backup Exec Deduplication Assessment Tool, scroll down to the bottom. There are 3 docs you can download. Read them all before running the BEDAT as these cover all the requirements. Regards
