Inventory fails with job engine service is not respondin

Hello Team,

 

I have tape library attached to my old server where Backup exec 15 is installed.It was migrated to another server with the same hardware specs and this tape library is also connected to the new server.Firmware is updated and driver s/w was also updated.when running inventory for a slot,it took about one hour to fail as job engine service is not responding.when looking on storage tab,i could see the tape is picked when inventory started,immediately the tape was read and put back to slot from drive but inventory still running for about 40 minutes and finally failed as recovered.

 

NO CRASH DUMPS CREATED...NO BACKUP JOBS ARE AFFECTED..

 

let me know what is the best solution as it is my DR site

Can I know what can be done on this issue?

What OS is the media server running? If Windows Server 2008 or R2 for instance, then run tapeinst.exe and make sure the Symantec drivers are being used for the drive.

Also make sure the robotics (assuming an autoloader/library) shows as Unknown Medium Changer in Windows Device Manager.
