I am currently running BackupExec 12.5. Since I am going to upgrade my Exchange server to 2010, I realize that I can not continue to do backups with 12.5. Can I upgrade to BackupExec 2012/2014 from12.5? Or is there a license for 12.5 for Exchange 2012?
Thank you for your time

Hi Stephen,
Yes you can...but you will need new licenses which come in *.slf format. Read below:

Thanks!

To add:
when doing the upgrade, you need to do the following:
1. Stop the BE services and grab copies of the Data/Catalogs folders.
2. The new ISO of BE 2014 should already include SP1, but after running the upgrade, run LiveUpdate to install any subsequent patches.
3. Once done, push-install these updates to your remote servers.
THanks!

The upgrade is free if you are on a current maintenance contract. You need to contact the Symantec Licencing department to get a new set of licence keys for BE 2014.
You should not upgrade to BE 2012. You should upgrade to BE 2014 which is the latest version and is closer in features to BE 12.5
