Is root user required for Linux agent 11d?

Hello, I am responsible for backing up servers for several different groups at my company. I have been asked to backup a Linux (Fedora Core 4) server. I am using BackupExec 11d on a Windows 2003 server. It looks like the RALUS agent will only run when logged in as root. This seems to be against all best practices. Does anyone know of a way to backup using the RALUS agent with limited privledges?

Thanks in advance for any help offered.

Dave
