Is the remote agent required to select a default share (C$, D$, etc)?

I'm trying to select a share on a server over the network. The C$ is greyed out saying that there is no remote agent installed. Do I need to install the agent or is there any way around it?

As of v9.0, the Remote agent was no longer "recommended" but required to connect to a remote serverOS machine. AFAIK, there is no workaround for this. You must install the remote agent on the remote server and a remote agent serial in the media server.

The Remote Agent should be installed on all the remote servers which will be backed up using Backup Exec.
