Is there a way to configure BE12 to maintain VSS snapshots?

I am working with a W2k8 R2 Sp1 Server with Backup Exec 2012 (and patches) installed.

I am running offhost VSS snapshots of Exchange, SQL and File servers.  The backups are completing without issue.  I would like to maintain the VSS hardware provider snapshots initiated by Backup Exec.  Currently the snapshots are deleted upon backup completion.

How do I change that?

why do you want to maintain the snapshots?  Backup Exec calls VSS into action and then the system handles it afterwards.

We are trying to use that snapshot for another purpose.  We want to maintain the data in the backup as well as the snapshot. 

Using diskshadow I can break the relationship with VSS and maintain a snapshot, but I can't tell Backup Exec not to delete the SS after it's job is done.

There is no way to tell BE not to delete the snapshots.

...I know of another vendor's product that can, but it only does that on HP storage (StoreServ/StoreVirtual).

You're probably better off looking at storage snapshots if you run an array and it can do that. Then BE is kept out of it.
