Hi, can you please elaborate that kind of updates you are looking for? So that I can get the team to look into it.

I blogged about this recently at http://www.thebeline.eu/?p=525 ... if you're interested in all stuff BE occassionally I write things that might be of worth a read.

Where is the 2012 SP1 "job view button" located?

So, this is just a "history" view, not a "live" view of running jobs, that I can use to open the job to get more detailed information, like progress status or to open the job logs?

I am completely at a loss as to why Symantec moved from a job-centric view to a server-centric view. Has this been explained anywhere?

Where do I go from here? I've got 20 years of experience in using Backup Exec to backup and restore servers that has flown out the window.

This video is a must watch for you Timothy:

The video has been watched twice, and it isn't helping to settle my upset stomach.

I have a feeling this has been hashed out already in the forums, here and elsewhere, but the move to a server-centric model away from the job-centric model is just not understandable to me. It guts the value of Backup Exec as the tried-and-true backup solution for enterprise environments.

How is having to deal with backups server-by-server-by server an improvement over creating just a few backup jobs that handle all of the backup tasks in logical (to me, the customer) groupings? Currently, I backup about 20 servers using six backup servers. Each backup server has a full backup job and and incremental backup job that each handle all the source selections, target selections, etc. I've got six jobs I've got to keep track of each day.

From what I'm reading, in BE2012, I'll have 20 backup jobs that I've got to keep track of each day. I hope the return to a job-centric model happens very fast.
