Job Priority on Backup-To-Disk Jobs

Hello,

I have a problem with the use of job priorities. With BE 12.5 I have the following scenario: I have serveral backup-to-disk folders and multiple scheduled backup jobs using them. My backup jobs keep always starting on the scheduled start time of the time frame, regardless of their priority. This frequently results in several concurrently running jobs. I don't want this, as it leads to excessive server load. How can I force BE to run the jobs one at a time in order defined by the job priorities? Thanks for any input!
Regards,
Wolfgang

HI wstahn,

Does your jobs use same selection list?
If there are multiple Jobs using same selection list, then updating the priority of one backup job will cause the priority for other backup jobs to be changed as well. in
Document ID: 309309.

Check the document, maybe it help.
Another way, is to know how long the jobs takes, then only start the next job when the last finnish.

You can use a Policy to execute one job after another.

See page 447 of the Admin Guide or see

On the DEVICES tab, right-click your Backup-to-Disk Folder and go to properties.  On the first tab of the pop-up window, you can specify the number of jobs that can run at the same time on the server.  Specify 1 and that should take care of the problem.

Hope this helps.
