Job Rate cut in half

Maybe a simple issue.

I'm running Backup Exec  v11d w/ an external scsi Quantum LTO3 drive.

Last week there was a hardware update for the Quantum drive, though Microsoft updates; that basically dropped my job rate in half.

I was running around 1300MB/min, now it's barely at 650MB/min.

My question is before I roll back the driver, are there any settings I should check first that may have changed?

I'd roll the driver back first.  If that doesn't work then you can start other troubleshooting

I've both rolled back the driver and I've run the device wizard to reinstall the original Veritas driver to no avail.   The same 58053 event shows up in the App Log / Event viewer.

Please provide more details about 58053.  Your first post was about perfromance and your second post now implies an error.
