Job Setup To NAS net share is grayed out.

BE 12.5,  I am no longer able to select the net share, it is grayed out, this process was working without issue a month ago, no changes to the config on BE Server and NAS.

I am also not able to connect to a user defnied share by IP number. The same NAS device (DX1) is used as the backup to disk folder, and this works.

• The "Enable selections of User Shares" has always been enabled.
• Windows Firewall is disabled on the BE Server.
• Beremote.exe, white listed in AntiVirus.
• User and Pass are working, Domain Admin level.

*****I have Backup Exex 12.0 Server that connects to the same exact NAS above without issue.

Any intel on this, will be greatly appreciated.

Is the remote agent service running ? And is port # 10000 available for use by the remote agent ?

Secondly, under Network & Security options, have you set to use any network/subnet or is set to use only IPv6 ?

The physical agent is not required for share-level backups, though the license is required. Also, port 10000 is required.

When you mention BE 12.0 works fine, did you try from the same server or a different server ?

Hi,I have been backing up the NAS (overland storage) without an agent for a long time.

Net & Security:  IPv4 - Use any availabel subnet.

Currently, BE 12.0 works perfect to the NAS, 12.5 just started this.

Under licensing, all that is there is:

• Symantec Backup Exec for Windows Servers\

Do I need to purchase another license?

Different Server.  I think this may be license related, the 12.0 License includes the remote agent, the 12.5 does not. I guess it was operating under 60 day trial?

Just double-checked. The license requirement started from BE 2010 onwards, so in BE 12.5 its not required.

If I browse to create a backup job, several servers are grayed out on the net shares, and if I hover over them, i get " a license for the remote agent is not installed on the media server:.

Seems like i was in 60 day trial, do I need to purchase anything else?

I am not sure if the install license is valid, any suggestions?  Thanks for the fast response, I appreciate it.
