Job stalls "pre-processing"

quantum lto3HH   I cant get any backup job to get past this point. In troubleshooting, i tried a test to do a full format of a tape which it completed successfully.

Wouldnt this tell me that the drive is not the problem because it read\write successfully to format the tape?

Any other ideas on what is hanging up the app? (fyi: I went so far as to try reinstall BE)

If you have enabled Job Progress Indicator, disable it

Where is that? I went looking through and could not find it. I remember that from older versions like 7,8...

Click on the BE button ---> Configuration and Settings ---> Backup Exec Settings
