Hello,
I’m running backup exec 11d (11.0 Rev 7170). And I’ve just purchased the version 2010.
Backup Exec 11d runs on a single windows server.
I want to do a fresh installation but I want to export jobs and policies from backup exec 11d to backup exec 2010. Is it possible ?
Thanks in advance
Mick

Hello Mick,
I believe this should help you to acheive your goal :
http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH37072
But please do take a backup of DATA and CATALOG folder of your 11d BE server, before you proceed for uninstallation of 11d and install BE 2010. In case you dont get the backups and policies migrated or it fails, you will need this database to recover back to original state (i.e. 11d).
To copy the DATA and CATALOG folder stop all BE services including SQL service (BKUPEXEC) and then copy it to a safe location.
DATA folder contains your BE database files and CATALOG folder contains all the catalog information of your tapes and disk backups.

Symantec also supports direct upgrade from 11d to 2010 as per thier FAQ document: http://eval.symantec.com/mktginfo/enterprise/other_resources/b-symc_backup_exec_2010_faq_20885023.en...
