LICENSING - How to license Backup Exec 2012 vRay with AMD Processors?

Hi everybody,

This is a first for me. How do you license Backup Exec 2012 vRay with AMD processors. My customer has 2 servers with 2 AMD processors with 12 cores each. Although there's a license for 2 to 6 cores and 8+ cores I don't know if there's an equivalence table (like the SQL Server 2012 does). i do know these processors are equivalent to Intel 6 core processors.

Thanks a lot,

Marco

It does not matter what they are supposedly equivalent to in the Intel range. They have more than 8 CPUs and you would have to look at the second license. The Symantec licensing department will confirm all of this. Thanks.

According to this blog https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/blogs/whats-included-backup-exec-v-ray-edition The V-Ray edition is licenced on a occupied socket basis so the number of votes per processor should not matter. Do confirm this with Symantec Licencing Dept.
