Large file in System Volume Information folder

Not applicable
Our company as been running Backup Exec 10 with Windows SBS 2003 for some time now. However, recently the free diskspace on the server's D: drive began to drop by about 400-500 per day. The consumed space did not appear to be due to user files and folders. Ultimately the cause of the problem was found in the System Volume Information folder.

The folder contained a 400-500 MB file that was created one the days and times that the daily backup ran. The files have names like "23(3808876bc-176-4e48-b7ae.......cc752)". The two digits at the front of the file name are sequential.

I suspect that Backup Exec may be involved with these files but am not sure why this problem has started. I have read in some other threads that Backup Exec can fail to clean up temporary files which can lead to a problem like ours.

Any ideas? Anyone had the same issue?

Thanks in Advance.

Paul.
