Last business day of month scheduling

For those whose office trades Mon - Friday and don't have the luxury of a tape library, it would be beneficial to be able to schedule full (as opposed to incremental) backup jobs to run on the last business day of the month.

Perhaps an "Advanced Scheduling Options" button that allows the last business day to be selected, if the 31st of the month falls on a Saturday or Sunday?

Georgia,

What version of Backup Exec are you running? If I schedule a job, and click the option "Run According to Schedule", an "Advanced Scheduling Options" dialog opens and under the "Edit Calendar option by" list, there is a "Reoccuring days of the month" option. On the right side there is a check box "Last Day", which will run the job on the last day of the month.

Are you wanting to make that more granular and have it only run if the last day of the month is a weekend day?

Thanks

Nick

Hi Nick

Currently we're running BEWS 12.0 and aware of the ability to select the last day of every month, but this doesn't work for us, as we only have a single tape drive and have backups running Mon - Fri. So the request is to enable a last business day option. This would enable us to schedule a Full backup on the last business day (being a week day) - good for DR strategy, rather than be stuck with an incremental.

Hope this makes more sense
