License 11d compatable to new version of backup exec

Hi 

I have  windows 2003 server with Backup exec 11d installed. Now we have purchased a new Dell R630 Server, installed Windows 2008r2.

Since 11d is not compatable with windows 2008 r2 OS, a new version need to install.

 

Can the same License keys can be used for new versions?

What is the validity or time frame for a License?

Can the same License keys can be upgrade to new version?

 

Please suggest

I was able to dial +65 6586

I was able to dial +65 6586 7742. There is a long hold time, but there was a response. Are you trying the same number ?

Nope, not at all...you need to request new licenses from Symantec in order to put them into the system.

- Nopes. Licenses are specific to versions

 

What is the validity or time frame for a License?

- Licenses do not expire. They are valid however only for that version of BE.

 

Can the same License keys can be upgrade to new version?

- Yes. If there is an active maintenance support contract, the upgrade is free else not.

Also reached singapore customer care numbers, no one responding,

We got the new license and configured on our new server. Backup is working fine.
