Licensing - explain

I have a question about Symantec licensing, can any one explain what service include it with this license,

SYMC SYSTEM RECOVERY SERVER 2013 R2 WIN PER SERVER BNDL STD LIC EXPRESS BAND S ESSENTIAL 12 MONTHS

Is it must purchase agent license for one windows server "data server", " database server" or included with core?

Agent for the backup server itself is included.

For each remote server a Remote Agent is required, or agent for databases and applications for your database server.

...just to add, but purchasing a DB agent for a remote server also means you have the remote agent bundled with it. No need to purchase a DB agent AND a remote agent for your database server for instance.

That looks like a System Recovery License and NOT a Backup Exec License as such the comments about agents may not apply.

Did you mean to purchase System Recovery or were you expecting to have Backup Exec?

Note: they are completely separate products that support different technologies and work in different ways. Also System Recovery has its own forums and you posted in the Backup Exec Forum.

OK as that seems to not be related to one of the editions but is just the core license (as a competitive upgrade with 12months essential support) , you can backup the file system, system state and shadow copy components of the Backup Exec server itself, but will need database agents (to protect SQL, Exchange, Sharepoint etc) and remote agents if you have any remote servers that need protecting.

Note if a database is on a remote server then the database agent does allow you to backup the file system and operating system of that server, so you only need standard agent for windows  licences for remote servers that don't also run databases.

Hi,

Your licence is another product SSR 2013r2 -> Symantec System recovery.

This licence is only for one server. It works for all widows servers, and workly, with all VVS aware application (SQL, Exchnage, ShPoint..), without buy an add on licence or agent.

This product take a full backup, and you can restore it on the same on or a different hardware server.

Backup exec 2015 --> Is an another product, for backup, and withe this product you can take full backup too, it's a BMR backup.
