Hi all
I have an environment that is currently using NTBackup to backup 7 of our critical servers to 5 different network-attached backup targets. There is 1 x SQL server, 4 x file servers, an exchange server and a couple of application servers.
I am looking at purchasing Backup Exec to centralise the management of these backups but I'm not sure what I need to purchase and the licensing that applies.
I think I need the following :
- 1 x core Backup Exec product licence for the backup server
- 6 x remote Backup Exec licences to backup the 6 x remote servers
- 1 x SQL agent licence to backup the SQL server
- 1 x Exchange agent to backup the exchange server
Can anyone let me know if this is correct? Do I need any other licences if I want to backup to the 4 x network-attached disks/targets?
Many thanks

Thanks AmolZeroCool - much appreciated.
On a slightly different note...
If I wanted to backup and restore a 'whole' server what is the easiest way to do this using Backup Exec?
Can I use the System Recovery feature to restore the entire backup on to bare metal? (with dissimilar hardware if possible). I want to get away from having to rebuild a physical server with a blank OS and then restore the data separately. If possible it would be much easier to restore the whole system in one go.
Thanks again

Yes, using the SDR feature of BE 2012 or else using System Recovery (different product), you can do a bare metal restore ( including different hardware)...

Thanks for this.
Does SDR come with the core product or do i have to purchase another licence?
