Live Update fails (11d)

When I attempt to run Live Update, it successfully downloads all the patches but when it attempts to install them, I get a LU1806 error: "LiveUpdate downloaded all of the updates you requested, but all of them failed to install. Please try to get the updates at a later time." All later attempts also fail with the same message.

thanks in advance

It's a known issue. I recommend you to download the patches via LiveUpdate and installing them manually later.

Larry,
Install from the console instead of a RDP/TS session.

Where does Live Update store the downloaded patches? My update also failed for 8 patches.

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\LiveUpdate\Downloads

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\LiveUpdate contains the index/log files. Look to Log.LiveUpdate for info on why they're not installing.

Hello, My Live Updates are working fine.

2 Questions

1.  Is there a way to change the default Live Update Path (C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\LiveUpdate\Downloads) say to E:\LiveUpdate\Downloads?

2.  Is there going to be a way for Symantec to remove the Update Packages (Hotfix Zip files) once they are installed without me writing a script or something?

Thanks

All,

When we find the updates in the Downloads directory?  How do we actually install them?  They are zipped up but I do not see any .exe files or any type of installer files.  All I see are .grd, .sig, and .tri.

Any suggestions?

Cheers,
Ben
