Live Update fails LU1812 LU1806 downloads updates but fails to install

Backup Exec 11d 7170 SP3 fails to update on SBS 2003 sp2. Hot fix 62, 62, 64, 65.

LU1812: A program that was part of this update failed when it ran. This update was not applied.
Installation failed, error summary...
LU1806: LiveUpdate downloaded all of the updates you requested, but all of them failed to install. Please try to get the updates at a later time.

I have unistalled Live update and installed the latest version (3.3) checked all permissions of services
I am pulling my hair out as the Backups are failing and the fix says install updates - which I can't.

HELP please!!

go to
c:\document and settings\all users\application data\symantec\backup exec\logs

There is a file called bkupinst.htm

can you attach the log file

I managed to get around this -

• Download the latest service pack and install manually.  This was not in the Live update list. 
• Reboot.
• Download the updates manually
• Install one by one - two failed
• Reboot
• Installed two failed updates successfully
