Log files filling up C: drive

FireJoe

I have log files that have been generating since April 2014 at about 8-12 a day all being about 20MB. After 9 months they have almost completely filled my C: drive. They are located in C:\Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec\Logs folder. I do not see anywhere that logging is turned on within BackupExec. I would like to delete these files if they are not needed and also stop them from generating. There was one day that generated over 100 log files at 20MB each counting for over 2GB. Currently there is over 340GB space for these logs used.

Hi Joe,

You can move the catalogs from the C:\ drive to another drive with enough space. Check the TN below:

Also check the retention time on the catalogs as if this is left to retain them for too long, they never get pruned possibly leading to your situation as well.

Thanks!

AmolB,

I went into the Registry and disabled the debugging according to your link provided. I will check tomorrow to see if more logs are created.

Thank you!
