Lost Catalogs

Hey everyone,
I need some help here. I was attempting to read some old catalog files from a few years ago. To accomplish this I did the following:
-Shut down all backup exec services.
-moved current catalog files to a temp folder
-moved old catalog files into the current BE catalog directory.
-Restarted BE services
-Attempted to view restore info... At this point is where my attempt was foiled. I am not able to see the catalog info. It's as though BE doesn't recognize that there's any catalog and doesn't see any systems to do restores from and such.

I'm running off of BE 8.6 on a windows 2000 server. Any advice on this matter is greatly appreciated.

When you do this, you need to delete the BETOPCAT.IDX file. This forces BackupExec to rebuild the catalog index, and you should be good to go after that

Shut down all BE services, delete the file from the \Catalogs dir, then restart the Services
