Hi,
I remember that in Backup Exec 2010 and earlier there was an option to specify Maximum Cleanings allowed for a cleaning tape. However, i cannot finde this option anymore, and the administration guide is not much of a help.
Can anyone tell me how to change this setting? Our current cleaning tape is erroring due to expired status, probable because of this setting.
Thanks in advance

Have you checked in the cleaning slot properties?

hello. i have opened a case regarding the same issue just two weeks ago. there is no way to set the maximum amount of cleanings (as it was possible in backup exec 2010).
if the cleaning slot is included in an inventory-job every inventory is for backup exec the same as a cleaning. so exclude the slot in which the cleaning media is in from the inventory job if you work with inventory-jobs.
a workaround is to put another barcode on the cleaning media. then backup exec thinks that this is a new cleaning media.
i hope this helps. i got the information from symantec support that the max. amount of cleanings is hardcoded and cannot be changed using a registry key or something similiar.
