Dear all.
I have a Beckup exec 2012.
The server has the follow ip address 192.168.0.234.
NOw, i have 4 different network:
192.168.0.0/24 (media Server)
192.168.1.0/24 (agent and hard disk)
192.168.30.0/24 (agent and HArd disk)
192.168.2.0/24 (agent and Hard disk)
The question is:
Is possibile use a media server for do a backup using the agent in another network (connection in VPN)? Is slow? Is important i the data go from Agent to media server to Hard disk...... in this case the WAN connection is Slow......
Thanks for help

The flow is as in 1, i.e., Agent (192.168.e30.223)------>mediaa server (192.168.0.234)-------->hard disk (192.168.30.0/24)

Yes, this can work, but as you say your WAN links are slow, don't expect high throughput.

If you are backing up to the hard disk at the remote site, the data will flow from the remote site to the media server and then back to the hard disk. This is not only slow, but this setup may cause a lot of job failures because BE is very intolerant of dropped packets.

OK, but one question:
the agent is install on server 192.168.30.223 the hard disk is in the network 192.,168.30.0/24
The media server is in the network 192.168.0.234
the flow of backup are:
1: Agent (192.168.e30.223)------>mediaa server (192.168.0.234)-------->hard disk (192.168.30.0/24)?
or:
2: Agent--------->hard disk ?
The second solution in ok fast the first solution is slow.....
What is the correct flow of data?
THanks
