We have an IBM TotalStorage 3581 L28 LTO Tape unit we use for our Backups. Two weeks ago the power went out in the Unit and I had to send it off to be repaired. When it came back, I plugged it into the SCSI rebooted the server and now it is not being recognized by VERITAS Backup Exec. It’s listed under Stand Alone Drives but not under Robotic Library where it once was. I can Inventory which takes about 9 seconds because it shows as unknown media but I can’t Catalog because it gives me an Invalid Physical Volume Library Media Identifier Error.
How do I get Backup Exec to put the LTO Tape device under Robotic Libraries and how do I get this to Catalog the Media so I can restore files that are much needed?
If I go to My Computer>Properties>Hardware>Device Manager
I do not see Medium Changer also.
