Microsoft Exchange 'Information Store' missing in backup selections

Hi,

I have a BEWS9.1 with SP4a (build 9.1.4691) installed on Windows 2003 (SP1)
that needs to backup a Exchange 2003 (SP1) server on a Windows 2003 Active/Passive cluster (MSCS)

Both cluster nodes have a installeded/running Backup Exec Remote Agent with SP4a (build 9.1.49)

There is also installeded a 'Exchange Agent' licens number on the BE server, this can also be seen under help -> Licens Information i the BE-GUI as 'Yes-Yes'

Problem:
When browsing 'Remote Selection' in a new backup job and selecting the virtual exhange server name only the drive letters for the database and log files can be selected. There are no icons for any Exchange Resourses !

When browsing 'Remote Selection' in a new backup job and selecting the active cluster node there are no icons for any Exchange Resourses, but the Ms. Information Store via VSS can be selected !

Does anyone have any suggestions to enable selections of the Exchange Resourses ?

brgs.
Donny

Hi VERITAS,

I have view the requerements in refered document for BE with clusters
page 8 *Requirements for Running Backup Exec Outside the Cluster*

1)Multi-Server Edition Backup Exec installed on a server on the network outside the cluster.
= Server installed on same network, fully updated and can view and backup drive letters via virtual server name (cannot but see or sellect exchange resourses)

2) The Agent Accelerator installed on both nodes in the cluster (the Agent
Accelerator will not install on a virtual server).
= RASW9.1.49 installed and fully updated (SP4a) and can view and backup drive letters via virtual server name (cannot but see or sellect exchange resourses)

3) If appropriate, a Backup Exec database agent, such as the SQL Server Agent or
Exchange Server Agent, installed on the backup server.
= License number for the Exchange Agent has been removed and reinstalled just to try and refresh the settings on the BE server (BU->Help-Licens Information says 'Licensed YES - Installed YES and the besernum.xml file incl. the serial key)

4) The cluster administrator software installed on the Backup Exec server in order to make backup selections for the Microsoft SQL Server or Exchange Server
databases from the correct virtual server.
= Not installed (never needed to install this component on BE 9.x and 10.x before and the requirement below also say that the database resource should be seen anyway)

Note) If you do not install the cluster administrator software on the backup server, you can still view the databases, but you cannot access the data.

Do you have any other suggestion ?

tnks.

Hello,

Please follow the technote to enable restrict anonymous support on both cluster nodes as well as the BE server, recycle the BE services and check again.
