Hi,
the situation is as follows:
1xCAS with W2K8R2 64bit and BE2012 SP3 & HF213186 installed
1xManagedBackupServer with W2K8R2 64bit and BE2012 SP3 & HF213186 installed
sharing an Overland-Library with 3 TapeDrives.
to migrate I assume the followin steps:
-) install SP4, HF215906, HF216746, HF217347 on both CAS and MBS
-) stop the communcation to the MBS and install BE14 on the CAS
-) stop the CAS
-) install BE14 on the MBS
-) reboot both server (CAS & MBS)
I'm interested in your experience and if I missed something, Thanks for your input

"Rolling upgrade" = temporary...if you had to wait a day to upgrade the MMS then it should be OK.
With 2 servers you should be able to do so in a day, so this would end up being a moot point.
1. Upgrade CAS and patch with BE 20114 SP11 and any subsequent patches;
2. Upgrade MMS and do the same...as mentioned above.
Even when patching via LiveUpdate the CASO is always patched first.
Thanks!

Thanks, pkh.
So the CAS & MMS should talk with each other, not bothering they run different versions.
Forgot about the MS-patches:
I assume the CAS & MMS should be on the same level?

On page 1106 BEADmin.pdf:
a rolling upgrade cannot be performed with this configuration. This managed BackupExec server must be upgraded at the same time as the central administration server.
rolling updgrade= first the CAS, then MMS????
