Multiple tape alerts

Hi

We had backup exec 8, and a superdlt 320 tandberg data tape drive. This worked for the most part. We've upgraded to Backup exec 11d for windows servers. We get errors like daying bad media, on media that used to be fine (drive has been cleaned), multiple hardware errors and it wont catalog. This all used to work with the old version of backup exec, it doesn't with the new. Any ideas why and if this can be fixed?

PS, is there really no email support or free phone support?

Have you installed all the patches, there are updated drivers on a few of them. should have hotfix 2, 6, 8 and 11

Errors like you're getting appearing after an upgrade aren't unheard of. Maybe the later versions of BE are more demanding of backup hardware, so errors come out of the woodwork?
Anyway, I'd make sure you have the latest Symantec device drivers installed - these aren't included as part of the Hotfixes.
