Hello

Due to diskarray problems my Windows 2008 R2 server is gone. Backup Exec 2012

We had one Systemdisk C and DATAdisk D

I have backups on my NAS.

Could someone give me a hint how to proceed!

Thanks in advance!

SDR is an option only if you had ran a SDR enabled backup, have the .dr file and the customized bootable dvd else not.

Without Backup Exec, you cannot restore the data & hence the prev suggestion to install BE first.

Admin Guide chapter (Disaster preparation and recovery) has bit detailed info as to how you can proceed.

Hi,

1. Load up Windows Server 2008 R2.

2. Load up BE 2012 and patch.

3. Add in your B2D from the NAS.

4. Inventory/Catalog it to add it back to the BEDB (assuming you don't have a copy of the BEDB).

5. Restore your data.

Thanks!

What about SDR is that not an option?

Or is it not possible to run when your Backup Exec 2012 also is gone?

You can use SDR if when creating your backup job the SDR light is on and the .dr file is created after a successful backup.
