Hi,

We are implementing a backup strategy. We are using a cisco NAS appliance. As soon as the disks on the Cisco Nas box is full, we would like to Backup this data from the NAS box to another NAS appliance within the same location.

Can this be possible in Backupexec 2010?

Please help.

You will have to run the job  manually or schedule the job to run at some particular time predicting when the first NAS box is full.

There is no mechanism in Backup Exec where it will detect the source drive to check if its full or not and then trigger the job.

Thanks,

Thanks for your response!!

Can you help me with a method to duplicate this job in back up exec. The main aim is to replicate this job to another appliance and make space available in the first appliance.

Cisco also has a solution for Continuous data Protection, should we procure Cisco CDP for this duplication?

Please help!!

Yes, Cisco's own replication is ideal for this.  They probably also havee some space management features too that are native to it.  BackupExec is not best suited to what you want to do.
