NDMP to S3 not possible with software encryption?

Looking to backup an Isilon to S3. For incremental to work, I need to use NDMP and not CIFS, not an issue. But with NDMP, I can no longer use software encryption when backing up to S3. I can with CIFS, but not NDMP. Am I missing something? How can I encrypt the data before it gets to S3?

Incremental is not supported over CIFS.  The data set is too large to do a daily full.

software encryption is unsupported for NDMP data with BE.
The only workaround I can think of is running full backup ( divide CIFS folders into multiple job and run them in parallel) to Cloud Deduplication storage. That way atleast the changes would go to cloud storage.
CIFS data would probably dedupe better as well.
