NW6.5 SP8 - BKUP Exec Ver 9.0 - Compression issue

pjamies

Hi,

Have a quick question concerning Netware BKUP Exec Ver 9.0's compression.
We have a dedicated SCSI 'HP Storageworks Ultrium 448' external backup
tape drive hanging off our 'HP Prolient DL385 G5' server.
The SCSI card is also a HP product that was bought along with the tape drive at the
time of purchase (from CDW).
Backup tapes are: HP Ultrium 2 (400gb) and Quantum Ultrium 2 (200/400gb)
Both are LTO tape types

Issue is with the amount of data we can put on the tapes.
No matter which tape I use, it ejects at 200gb and asks for another
tape ..
I have tested both Hardware and Software -(bkup exec determins it) compression
with out any change.
Is there something that I am missing here ??
We need to backup approx 250gb of uncompressed data.
I have double checked that none of the (backed up) volumes have compression turned on.
I do see 1 of the volumes being compressed (1.3:1), but the rest are all (1.0:1)

I have looked for specific NW drivers for the HP Tape Drive, but none seem to exist (that I can find), though
the device is Netware 6.5 compatible.

Any Help would be much appriciated !

Sincerely,

Paul J.
