I have a client that installed an Exchange 2010 server into a network with a Backup Exec 10d server running Windows 2003. The Exchange 2010 is on a 64-bit Windows 2008 R2 server. I know I need a Backup Exec Exchange Agent on the new mail server, but what exactly are my options? Can a 10d agent run on 64-bit 2008 with Exchange 2010? Or do I need to upgrade the media server to a current version of Backup Exec? If I purchase a license for a current version of the agent, can I downgrade it to a 10d agent? Is the 10d agent still available for download?

Hello,
Backup Exec 10d dosen't supports Exchange 2010 OR Windows Server 2008.
Its time to upgrade Backup Exec from 10d to Backup Exec 2010. You need to purchase the Exchange license for Backup Exec 2010.
Hope this helps...

Hello
To add to the above post.
You need to install BE2010 or BE2010R2 on Win 2008(64 bit only) or Win 2008 R2
to take a backup of Exchange 2010. Refer to the below article.

right. only version 2010 will work on Exchange 2010 OR Windows Server 2008. Contact customer care to verify if they can give you a free uprade to version 2010
