New hard disks

Hi, We are getting ready to update a windows 2003 server with some new hard drives in a raid array to increase capacity. The server hosts MS Exchange 2003. Is it possible to use IDR to make this process easier? If so, can anyone point me to a resource that describes the process? Do you have to put the server back to the same exact status to use IDR?
