No Compression on new tapes

Does not matter If i Label them or not new tapes wont have compression. My old tapes work fine.
Using 10d on server 2003 with LTO-2 drive.
 
Not sure if anyone has seen this before or not.

I think this was reported quite a while ago.  As I remember the "solution" was to use the manufacturer's utility to "initialize" the tapes, and then BackupExec could compress to them

All the tapes with this problem will not enable compression on any future backups.
Stop start all services, rebbot and just tried for 3 nights in a row.
 
Maybe there is a way to wipe the tapes so compression will enable?
Tried a new tape and it would compress now, but the old ones wont.
