No Media in library

New Dell LTO7 1U Library shows up in Backup Exec 20.4 as IBM 3580 and shows "No Media".  There are 8 tapes and 1 cleaning cartridge in the unit, all with bar codes.  BE does not even display a Scan button on the menu bar.  Inventory seems to run successfully, but BE does not seem to realize the drive is a library and doesn't see any of the 9 cartridges in the library.  Both have been powered off multiple times.

Need to get BE version 20.4 to realize the device is a library and to find the 9 cartridges in it.

Is this device working properly in the Windows Device Manager?

It sounds as if the tape drive is being seen by both Windows and BE, which is good.  But you are missing the robotic library.

So, the next question is does Windows see the robot?  Look in Windows Device manager, under the "Medium Changer Device" and what (if anything) do you see?  You should see an entry for "unknown medium changer".  If you see something else, I would suggest uninstalling and deleting the IBM driver.  If you don't see anything, then you likely have some hardware or configuration issues to resolve in the HBA or the tape library.

Then reboot the server and see if the robotic library is dscovered correctly by Windows.  Once Windows discovers the robotic library properly, then Backup Exec should automatically discover the robotic library and make it usable to you.
