Windows 2003 Server
Dell 2600 Server, Ultrium LTO2 backup device.
2 x 74GB Raid 1 SCSI Disks
4 x 74GB Raid 5 SCSI Disks

I have the setup above on a new exchange server. The server is up and running and Backup Exec install appears to be correct. However, when I try to creae a backup job there are no local drives or exchange databases to select in the selections page. There is a local selections 'Disk icon' but it cannot be expanded.

Any pointers would be appreciated.

Thanks Steve

I have tried stopping starting the services. Removing adding the licenses, adding the backup account into DCOM. To no avail.

The backup accounts are local administrators, and I'm not using any remote agents.

I have also checked the enable default shares/network share tabs.

Still cannot see any local drives

Hi,

Check whether the services are running with Domain Administrator Account.

Check whether the Remote Agent for Windows Servers Service is running with Local System Account.

Check whether port 10000 is open on the server.

The following document could be helpful as well.

After changing the Backup Exec "service account" using the Services applet, the error message: "A required privilege is not held by the client" is displayed after clicking the "Backup" button.

Thanks for your reply. It was an issue with the backup service account.
